Charlie's Collectible Show: A Con Review!

I came across this action figure show one day on the Internet and decided to stop by!

Here is what Charlie's Collectible Show had to offer!

Charlie's Collectible Show is a smaller venue in Stone Mountain, GA that specializes in doing some sort of "gathering" every weekend. On the weekend of April 7, 2024, that gathering happened to be of action figure dealers. Admission was free!

The inside had a bunch of spaces with these metal partitions. Dealers were mostly action figure oriented.

These are two of the Yamato USA 1/6 Metal Gear Solid figures. They are not worth the price that is on them. but I have handled this figures before, and they look and play well!

One table known as "The Den of Hills" specialized in mending soft good items such as plush animals. They made this nice dress for one of my favorite Barbie's from the current fashionista line!

Here are some of the mid-2000's 1/6 Dreams and Visions figures. They were not cheap when they came out, and have not really dropped in price since then.. The Unknown Soldier was cool, but many collectors were disappointed that they paid a premium price for a figure that was actually made my M&C Toy Centre a.k.a. Power Team.

During the dark ages of Hasbro Marvel Legends (2007-2010ish), Hasbro actually released cool two packs exclusive to Toys R Us. This is one of the few Marvel Legends sets I do not have yet, but the Deadpool is very much obsolete now. The Warpath on the other hand has not been updated with his X-Force costume.

This Recondo is from the highly desirable 3 3/4 G.I. Joe line that was called Pursuit of Cobra. They came out shortly after the Rise of Cobra line in 2009. These were known were updated designs of classic Joes and a ton of cool, imaginative accessories. I bought a bunch of these at the show more on later!

I finally saw the HasLab Classified Cobra Hisstank in person. It is cool, but looks like a hassle to store!

This is the slightly smaller G.I. Joe Classified V.A.M.P. This is cool too, but I very happy with my 25th anniversary one.

I met a cool customizer who paints Gundam Models and paint samples for certain action figure companies. Scott Warren was showing me his work and was explaining to me how popular Gundam merchandise is in the United States. Apparently, Gundam sells much more on the West Coast, which makes sense!

These are a few of Scott's customs and paint samples for 4 Horsemen Studios. He told me that many times, the end product ends up with less detail to fit budget constraints on each figure.

I always love seeing dioramas so I photographed what was there. Nothing large, but some tables had a few mini dioramas on display!

Cool street corner!

Some Hand Ninjas in a forest! (It needs a Daredevil!)

Star Wars Black Series Range Trooper in the arctic!

1/12 scale Palpatine Throne Room!

1/12 scale Cobra Commander throne room! The figure is obviously a custom, because Hasbro refuses to make the Hooded Cobra Commander now! I believe the last 3 dioramas were made by a hobbyist named Corey of Coretoonz Cosplay!

Another cool thing about this show was in the back, there was a seminar on cosplay. I always enjoy seeing seminars in subjects that are creative!

Although I saw many fascinating figures, these Pursuit of Cobra figures is what I spent my money on. These figures typically start at $30, but the nice dealer at this show let me walk away with these for only $15 each MIB! I was overjoyed to get these, and walked away with my head to the sky with this phenomenal deal!

It was not the biggest show, but I did not feel like Charlie's Collectibles Show was trying to gouge me out of my money for toys The dealers were nice, and the admission was free, so you can not lose by going there! If another Action Figure Gathering at Charlie's Collectible Show is convenient, I will be sure to come back!
