Neo Henshin Cyborg Cave Shots!

In addition to the Batman shots here, I also took photos of Neo Henshin Cyborgs in Stephens Gap Cave as well!

These are some of my all time favorite Japanese toys!

The clear Takara Henshin Cyborg with green joints is the Cyborg99 (pronounced "Cyborg Double-9") from the exclusive Cyborg99 vs King Walder 2 set in 2000. The villain Cyborg is a Red Magma King Walder 2 that came out in 1999. I bought a cheap loose one not too long ago that had extra arms; they make him look so much more monstrous!

  1. I have the n2toys NEO 12 inch figure from the film the MATRIX. I wonder if they took his name from neo henshin cyborg. I have my first clear/silver henshin cyborg as his right hand man.

    1. I remember when those Matrix toys came out. I don’t have any, but if I run into a Keanu or Fishburne for a decent price, I might pick them up!

Neo is Greek for “new.” I think Takara just wanted a slightly different name for the rebooted Henshin Cyborg figures.

BUT there is absolutely nothing wrong with pairing your Cyborg with Keanu! Play and imagine away! :)

    2. There was 6 n2toys matrix 12 inch figures. Sadly morpheous was only presented as his martial arts uniform and in his suit. Neo had 3 martial arts, real world neo and his black trenchant. Trinity was done twice one real world trinity and her black leather trenchant outfit. The cool thing is they were much like combat joe bodies and they were under 25 bucks where you would pay 300

    3. 300 dollars for a more sculpted neo figure. The n2toys were superior then the more expensive matrix action figures in my book.

    4. I think they’re better than the “hot toys” level figures too. When you’re paying $$$ per figure, the toy and play aspects are sadly shaded from the fear of breaking half of your paycheck!

I actually thought about superior “value” figures last week. Lanard has created the perfect 1/6 Predator figure for only $20 at Wal-Mart! It’s not as detailed as the $$$ versions, but it’s fully poseable, has a working light, moving mouth, and removable helmet. I’m going to pair him with my Power Team Schwarzenegger figure and possibly do some photos soon!

    7. I also bought the intimate toys Rapid Deployment Force 12 inch figures. I have 8 of them and a couple carded mission outfits and gear. They are from 1992 and I paid only 15 bucks each and they are boxed. You can always find sweet deals with a little patience.

    8. On the smaller scale dollartree has Final Faction 3.75 inch figures for one dollar each and they are superb. There is a team of 5 soldiers/cyborg robot and 3 aliens. And special weapon packs.

    9. Ahh, yes, Rapid Deployment Force, the precursor to Formative's Soldiers of the World. I never bought many of them. My favorite generic line of 1/6 figures is Power Team. I have a guide to some of their heads. If you look real closely, you'll find my Schwarzenegger in the mix!

I have seen and handled the Final Faction figures from Dollar Tree. I have not seen the humans, but the aliens are top notch figures for a buck! They are also original which I highly admire!

    10. I would like it if dollar tree sold 12 inch figure mission outfits and gear. Final Faction had a budget! It would be awesome.

    11. One 12 inch figure that came out was the G.I.Joe the rise of cobra Cobra Commander figure with removable cyborg mask and featured a long black coat and Uber blade. He looked like Freddy Krueger underneath the clear soft vynel mask.

    12. I remember when the 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra figures hit Target. That Cobra Commander uses the same tooling as the modern Action Man villain No Face. I would like to get a No Face complete or NIB one day.

    13. Like the Unkown Soldier and I believe they were banning the terrorist type figures for obvious reasons.

    14. I need a Asian 12 inch combat joe figure.

    15. The Unknown Soldier was not banned; he just was only available through special retailers such as Cotswold. In specific, this is the Dreams and Visions 1/6 Unknown Soldier in collaboration with Power Team Elite. The 21st Century Toys Armed Terrorist was unfortunately banned from stores and replaced with a green variant known as the Ultimate Bad Guy. These were part of the Ultimate Solider Villains line that had many really cool controversial figures. I do not own any of these yet, but I have come across both of these figures from above for decent prices.

Another line of banned villain figures were the Enemy Commandos from Power Team; they were exclusive to Dollar Generals in the mid 2000's. The figures clearly stated they were meant to be antagonists for the police, but press caught word of their release, and Dollar General stores quickly pulled them into the back and literally crushed them according to my friend EJ. They were worth a pretty penny for a while, but you can find them for a decent price now. Power Team also rereleased two of them with updated bodies.

    16. Is there any pictures of the green enemy commando power team and 21st century toys?:)

    17. The adventures of G.I.Joe 2010 were fun! So was collectors club 12inch super joe and darkon gor which I wish I had but they fetch a high price.

    18. I'm a fantasist. I care more for the space force figures than the straight military figures. How about you?

    19. Search "21st Century Toys Ultimate Bad Guy" for the green criminal.
Search "Dolgencorp Enemy Commando" for the Power Team criminals.

I don't own the Ultimate Bad Guy, and I do not have strong photos of my Power Team thugs. Interestingly, "Power Team Elite" and "World Peacekeepers" are no where to be found on the criminal boxes.

I do have snippets of their heads on my Power Team head reference guide:

    20. The 2010 figures were a nice value line of Joes designed to compete with Max Steel. This is what Greg Autore, designer of many Joes during this era, told me at JoeLanta.

The club 1/6 Super Joe sold out, but the Darkon went for a decent discount at the club closing clearance sale. I am sure both are currently off the roof on eBay, but you should hit up a good convention for gems like this. I bought the club Joe Green Beret uniform NIB for $75 in Kentucky when it normally goes for $150+ on eBay.

As for fantasy vs. real figures, I love both when each is done well. I have seen fantasy stuff that look dopey, but I have also seen realistic figures that look plain boring.

      "Is this toy cool?"

This is a conversation probably meant for a Figure Philosophy post, but if a figure is visually appealing, possesses high playability, fits into the lines I collect, and its price is right, I will most likely purchase it! (Example: the 2021 Lanard 1/6 Predator figure)

    21. Yea I wanted lanard predator 12"inch to have more articulation and the 7 inch predator vs alien are competing with neca toys. I did buy the halo warthog w/master chief tho for 25 dollars. I have retired from to much toy overhaul. I try to keep it simple. I'm not impressed with new star wars. The price range is too high. I have my favorite figures

      Delete
    22. I like g.i.joe star brigade. And having concern about masters of the universe. I never liked transformers that well. I just like the car and robot thing. You know. But for me transforming them is like the Rubixcube. I'm into the story you can create and into my own thing. I cringe at just gunfire violence. I think it should be deeper

    23. the style of the action figure grabs me. I think alot of things about the action figure are coming back especially style. First class toys. So I'm not a fan of statues and you can't have it all. Right now I'm a fan of giant robots anime and live action henshin japan shows. So I wish the old days would come back. Retro star wars is nice:)

    24. I found both green and diabolic ultimate bad guys on ebay both for 15 dollars and 17 dollars shipping on eBay. I bought them

    25. Is that a good deal or what. Both ultimate bad guys mib for 15 dollars. Thats $7.50 a figure and 17 dollars shipping. I did buy more for the same price. I found some Fire fighters too.

      Delete
    26. That is a very good price for both Ultimate Bad Guys! I would have snagged them for that as well MIB.

    27. What did you think of 21st century toys misfits doyle wolf gang von Frankenstein and Jerry only 12"inch figures. Do you like the Misfits?

      Delete
    28. I do not listen to the Misfits, but I am familiar with their mascot who originally was from "The Crimson Ghost" movie serial. Those figures are cool looking though, and I would probably buy them if I saw them for a decent price.

I have a new "Message Me" gadget on my sidebar. Let's continue this conversation through that. :)

    1. Thank you! After setting up the figures, I try to shoot from as many angles as the natural lighting and comfortable positions on the ground allow me. I then choose the best photos back on my laptop. I discovered my opinion on a photo can completely flip when it is fully realized on a computer screen. :)
